Doc’n Roll programmes encore event screenings and special one-off premieres year-round in the UK. Additionally, Doc’n Roll screens in Amsterdam 10 – 13 April, NYC 1 – 9 May 2025, and year-round in San Francisco, Dublin, and Dubai.
The 2025 12th edition of Doc’n Roll Film Festival UK & Ireland, our headline festival, will open at BFI Southbank and Barbican Cinemas and runs across six other London cinemas and 12 UK regional cities, plus Dublin simultaneously from 23 October to 9 November 2025.
About Doc’n Roll—
Doc’n Roll began life in 2013, when we launched the UK’s Music & Arts Documentary Film Festival as an arts discovery film fest, convinced it was time to show some love to outlier music, arts and subculture documentaries that were all too often ignored by risk-averse film programmers.
Ten years on, via our now UK-wide annual festival, one-off events and special screenings, we provide our audience with the opportunity to watch these killer documentaries in ace cinemas, as they were designed to be watched: LOUD.
In 2017, owing to strong demand from both filmmakers and audiences, Doc’n Roll expanded to include a boutique UK event cinema, distribution, and world sales service. We excel in finding theatrical, non-theatrical and direct-to-consumer routes to market for independent music documentaries across the UK and Europe.
In 2019, we launched another UK first, Doc’n Roll TV, our worldwide on-demand streaming platform that allows us to present a host of new and classic music documentaries to viewers at home.
About Turbo Virgo—
Born in Japan, raised in Jersey, and living between LA, Vegas, and NYC, Willie Nedrow (aka Turbo Virgo) is ready to bring an evening of throwback feel-good classic Disco/House and assorted timeless favorites to Ace Hotel New York for the opening party of the Doc’n Roll NYC Film Festival.

Lobby Night with DJ Mihoko at Lobby
DJ Mihoko started out the mid-90’s as a founding member of Japan’s first female reggae sound system. Mihoko then began touring her home nation extensively, while taking occasional trips to Jamaica to cut dubplates. Moving to NYC in 98, Mihoko soon picked up a number of residencies and guest spots at venue such as the Limelight, Speed Cheetah, Lotus and 60 Thompson.
