New York City Wine & Food Festival hosted by Camille Becerra and Amanda Freitag

  • 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm | Friday October 18, 2024
  • As You Are | Ace Hotel Brooklyn
  • 252 SCHERMERHORN Street

Both Amanda Freitag and Camille Becerra cook up bright, fresh, modern fare, giving a new name (and taste) to American cuisine. We’re putting them together in the kitchen at As You Are, the popular in-house eatery of the Ace Hotel in Downtown Brooklyn, for one night only.

Get ready to indulge in a festive feast of comforting favorites presented in surprising ways. Amanda Freitag is a judge on the Food Network’s “Chopped,” the author of best-selling cookbooks, and a successful chef and restaurateur, who has been known to blend Southeast Asian flavors with French technique. Camille Becerra has done everything from compete in season 3 of “Top Chef” to cooking at a zen center to penning a celebrated cookbook. Today she is the Chef-Partner of As You Are, where this fabulous feast will take place, as part of NYCWFF’s popular Brooklyn dinner series.

As they saying goes, “No sleep ‘til Brooklyn,” but it should be “no eating ‘til this Brooklyn dinner,” because this is a not-to-miss (or sleep-on) meal that is going to show off the innovative and fresh styles of two very talented female chefs.

Wine pairings will be provided by Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.

Ace Artist in Residence & Byline present — Tomorrow’s Garden by Caroline Zimbalist at Gallery

With this seminal exhibition, Tomorrow’s Garden, we glimpse through a keyhole. Behind the door is an imagined, futuristic world where the overuse of plastic melted into nature and created new species of bioplastic lifeforms. An enchanted oyster lies in the ocean with aquatic creatures and flora. A hanging abstract, bioplastic jellyfish illuminates an underwater world, a forest where hybrid amphibians and fairies tend to the changed planet. Caroline questions what the future can look like in a world where nature…
