Slow Series– A space to pause and learn a new skill or remember an old one. Led by creative friends. Artists and makers in our community.
As part of the Slow Series—create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece on a miniature canvas at the Art to Wear Workshop led by artist Teng Teng.
Teng Teng is a Chinese-born artist based in New York, specializing in painting across multiple mediums, including watercolor, oil, and acrylic. Her Microcosm Painting series draws inspiration from ancient Chinese handscrolls—a treasured and portable art form dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
Her work encapsulates the passage of time within a miniature frame, designed to be carried and shared as a token of beauty and meaning. Designed by the artist, these 1.1 x 1-inch frames—crafted from alloy, silver, and 18k gold—serve as elegant vessels for her intricate paintings. Each piece can be worn as a brooch, necklace, or ring, transforming the wearer into a moving gallery, showcasing miniature art to the world. Alternatively, they can be displayed as framed artworks, adding a timeless touch to any space.
