5月5日「こどもの日」はLong Weekend。ロサンゼルスの「Leaving Records」からCollobohとGEMをお招きし、サイケデリックで浮遊感のあるサウンドをお届けします。

Colloboh

ナイジェリア出身のロサンゼルスを拠点とする実験的なプロデューサー兼作曲家。モジュラーシンセサイザーを使った音楽で知られている。自己流で音楽を学んだ彼は、InstagramでシェアしたDIYの録音日記を通じて注目を集め、熱心なオンラインのフォロワーを得た。この活動がLeaving Recordsの創設者であるマシュー・デイヴィッドの目に留まり、彼はCollobohに「Listen to Music Outside In The Daylight Under a Tree」というレーベルの月例ショーケースでのパフォーマンスを依頼。

2021年にはボルチモアからロサンゼルスに移住し、音楽に専念するため、同時にロサンゼルスの実験音楽シーンで重要な存在となった。彼のデビューEP『Entity Relation』は2021年にリリースされ、クラブビートに焦点を当てたが、2023年5月5日にLeaving Recordsからリリースされたアルバム『Saana Sahel』は、彼の音楽的野心の幅広さを示している。

Colloboh (a blend of Collins Oboh) is a Nigerian-born, Los Angeles-based experimental producer and composer known for his modular synthesizer work. A self-taught musician, Colloboh gained attention through his DIY recording diaries shared on Instagram, which attracted a dedicated online following. This caught the attention of Leaving Records founder Matthew David, leading to Colloboh’s first performance at the label’s monthly showcase, Listen to Music Outside In The Daylight Under a Tree.

In 2021, Colloboh moved to Los Angeles from Baltimore to pursue music full-time and became an integral part of the city’s experimental music scene. His debut EP, Entity Relation (released in 2021), explored club beats, but his 2023 album, Saana Sahel, released on Leaving Records, highlights a broader range of his musical ambitions.

GEM

カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルスを拠点に活動するキュレーター兼DJ。彼女のイベントは、深いリスニングと儀式的な要素に焦点を当てており、音楽と瞑想や儀式の神秘的な領域との交差点を探求。Teebs、Julianna Barwick、Salami Rose Joe Louis、Carlos Niño、Photay、Matthewdavid（Leaving Recordsのメンバー）、Collobohなど、数多くのアーティストとコラボレーションしている。

ロサンゼルスのLeaving Recordsから生まれた「オールジャンル」ムーブメントや、ここに根付いた豊かなアーティストコミュニティに影響を受けて、彼女は自分をインスパイアする音楽をプレイ。特にフォース・ワールド、アンビエント、実験的ジャズ、ニューエイジ音楽に深い魅力を感じている。ダンスタイムには、R&Bや前衛的なエレクトロニック音楽に、ディスコのエッセンスを加えたミックスを楽しんでいる。

GEM is a curator and dj based in Los Angeles, California. Her events emphasize a focus on deep-listening, and the underlying concept of ritual. She aims to find a cross-over between music, and the ethereal realms of meditation and ceremony. She has collaborated with a myriad of artists including: Teebs, Julianna Barwick, Salami Rose Joe Louis, Carlos Niño, Photay, Matthewdavid (of Leaving Records), Colloboh, just to name a few.

Inspired by the “all-genre” movement coming out of Los Angeles through Leaving Records, and the rich community of artists here, she plays what inspires her with a deep draw to fourth world, ambient, experimental jazz, and new age. When it’s time to dance though, she enjoys mixing r&b and forward-thinking electronic, with a pop of diso.
